Jay DuBois, Founder of Nukanga

Our founder, Jay DuBois, envisioned Nukanga as a groundbreaking system that blends the objectivity and fun of sports and games with financial and spiritual development in a group setting.
Jay had a cosmopolitan upbringing: having Caribbean-American family from Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, learning multiples languages, and a uniquely varied social circle running the gamut of backgrounds and skillsets.
Drawing inspiration from his formative years in an international school, years of competitive sports, and pioneering an online community for Atlanta’s electronic dance music scene (motivated by reading The Four Hour Workweek), Jay saw the potential to create something transformative.
His experience blogging about the 2008 global financial crisis further solidified his desire to design a system that combines the structured meritocracy of sports, the excitement of a multicultural music festival, and the relevant curriculum content needed for adults navigating a volatile economy by leveraging the extensive power of the internet.
After listening to The Charter Cities Institute podcast and studying The Network State, Jay’s ultimate vision for Nukanga was born—as a Network School for worldbuilders.
